DM between Mastodon and Streams

@Streams does anyone know if DM's work between Streams and Mastodon?

I have never tried it, but someone on Mastodon said they would DM me, but I realized afterwards that I was not sure if that worked or not.

There were a few improvements in the latest release related to having ongoing DM conversations with someone. Mastodon was sharing some of their later replies in those DM threads with friends. Turns out this is because they don't recognise a message as a DM if you cc yourself - which is (opinion: really idiotic), but that's the hand we were dealt - so I've once again had to completely discard our (opinion: more sensible) behaviour to match that software's assumptions.
