@Haakon Meland Eriksen (Els Mussols)    A few years back I was giving you hard time about a post you made regarding world religions. At the time I thought it rather opinionated of you to attack such a broad topic.

Now, I am watching in real-time as  U.S.  Christian Nationalism is being used to push terrible policies.  In Pakistan and India an age-old conflict between Hindus and Muslims is escalating into war, and in Palestine the Israeli army is committing terrible atrocities against Muslims.

I now believe that you were correct in your thinking:  Religions have no place in world affairs.  I sincerely apologize for questioning your thinking.

@Adam Robertson I too apologise, because as you rightly pointed out most religious people are not nutters, even though they have the same book that has some few dangerously nutty sentences I wish was not there because nutters use them to justify their nutty behaviour.

Most religious people I know are very nice, do really good work in their communities, and are willing to help people who need it. While I believe they would have done that without their religion too, who am I to be an ass about why people are being nice to others?

I recently learned adrenalin does not make you more aggressive, it strengthens social structures already in place. In other words, if the social structure is an aggressive hierarchy, its members will behave aggressively towards those below them in the hierarchy, and if it is benign, its members will do random acts of kindness to anyone. Now, if this is true, if you and your society is in a good place, expect more good things to happen, and if not, well...
