I've been listening to 80's music tonight.
When I was young we lived in an upper-middle neightborhood. My dad probably wasn't making as much as the neighbors I suppose. He managed a grocery store and the neigbors were CEO's, bank presidents, real estate agents, etc. He was a hella cheap ass, he would go to competitors stores to buy razors (he'd buy the cheap 10 for 50 cents "safety" blades) but he moved his family into a neighborborhood that was kinda pricey. At least I got to make out with affluent girls when i was young. My parents were into country music and it was the reagan 80's. I got to hear pop music blasting out of the private swim / tennis club in our back yard. this photo was taken during autumn/winter so the olympic size pool is covered and the trees are brown. We never belonged to that pool because it cost a grip. My dad took us to the lake, which was free. And we were basically amish in our neighborhood and I was teased and beat up all the time by the richie-riches. My dad used to get pissed because the entire neighborhood walked through our back yard to get to the pool. As an adult now i can understand that, i mean i'd feel weird walking through somebody's yard. I would just walk on the sidewalk down the street to get to the pool., it's not that much farther, but conceptionally our yard might seem much shorter path.
The craziest thing i see in this overhead photo is pondview park has a driveway up to the entrance with parking spot.s Us teenagers used to go there and smoke and do drugs and drink and nobody would bother us. Even one neighbor who was clean cut and went to Harvard went back there and smoked a pipe (tobacco). lol. The park was much bigger and the pond much smaller there. Now IT's al 'gentrified' big time and shit. lol. Little old ladies can feel safe walking their dog Fifi. I guess.
I haven't been back to that area since 2001 or so. My sister start some shit trying to take everything when my parents die. Well my dad is dead, maybe my mom is still alive. I've not spo\ken to them for years. She's never lived more than a few miles from my parents and I've been thousands of miles away and she's driven a wedge, i'm sure it's for her own financial reasons. Whatever, i don't need those people.
