Just to gauge interest...
We have block author and block author's site (I mean if permissions alone don't suffice to fix your undesirable content issues). Would you like to also see (?)
Block product (e.g. Mastodon, Threads, Gab, Truth)
3 Votes | 27%
Block vendor (e.g. Mastodon, Meta, Gab, X, Trump)
4 Votes | 36%
Block forks of vendor's products also (e.g. Hometown)
0 Votes | 0%
No thank you
4 Votes | 36%
Poll has ended.

My vote does not seem to stick. Tried twice. does it take more than refreshing the page?

I'm on shared hosting so delivery speed isn't the greatest. There's a fallback where you can copy the 'Link to Source' and drop it in the searchbar and it should pull in the latest updates.

I voted No because I don't think I'd use those features myself, but I have no objection if they're present. I can understand why some people would want to block products, either for ethical reasons, or because they don't want to battle incompatibilities such as text-formatting.

I voted block by product, but I'd be fine with any of the blocking options.
I'd like to add that the block should be bi-directional. If I block Mastodon, then none of my posts should go out to Mastodon servers in addition to blocking inbound traffic.
Being able to communicate on the Fediverse and avoid the enshittification of Mastodon at the same time would be awesome.

Does streams know if I already voted for something? I mean will it keep people from voting multiple times on the same poll?

You're allowed one vote on single choice polls. If I recall we also check nomadic clones when deciding this, but I haven't looked at that code in quite some time. This poll uncovered a couple of poll anomalies. I'll be looking into these as time permits.

Found Adam's problem. Basically the "duplicate vote search" found the 'Like' on the post and assumed it was a vote. Can't fix today - will get to it when I can. But that's what happened. Don't try and work around it by undo'ing the like - as it probably won't have the desired effect. Your vote has been recorded - just not with all the others.

Using hubzilla means I can block almost anything I want. The biggest problem is, and will probably always will be, the other side does not listen. Hubzilla gives back a 403, so it isn't to much traffic. I do hope the Fediverse will solve that one day.

I'm not sure it applies, but many countries have varying net neutrality laws that could cause problems blocking entire networks. Of course, these laws typically intend to prevent ISPs such as Comcast, etc., who provide Internet access to end-user/customers from blocking access to information and also providing "fast lane" access to sites which pay a premium while degrading service to non-paying "internet destinations". However, the text of the laws varies from country to country it seems, so it's conceivable that blocking an entire network you don't like may cause some legal issues in a country you hadn't considered.

Those laws apply to common carriers or transit providers. I don't see how they would apply to somebody running their own Streams or Hubzilla instance. End points are free to block as much as they want.

I've blocked or attempted to block entire countries at my router before. If they have a problem with that, they can bite me. I'm not subject to their laws.

End points can always be blocked, even when it comes to financial systems. Call the big provider, tell him/her you suspect hacking attempt, but it could also be an unannounced audit
Then tell them you expect a phone call from the auditor (give them your name), if not you will block ranges.
Within 10 minutes I got a call with something like:
Good damn, should have known you work there. You want a job?
Yes, they knew me. No big deal, I had a good employer I valued
